Eight Safety Tips for Christmas Travel—Enugu Police

As Christmas and New Year’s get closer, the Enugu State Police have put out helpful travel safety tips for people who want to go on vacation.

The police spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, shared these eight important points on his X account on Tuesday:

1. Pick a trustworthy transportation service:

When taking the bus or train, choose well-known and dependable companies.

2. Write down your information:

Make sure that your name and other details are written on the travel manifest. Also, tell someone you care about about the features of the car you’re traveling in.

3. Take care of your car:

If you’re traveling in your own car, make sure it’s well-maintained and in good shape.

4. Don’t go on trips at night:

If you don’t have to, try not to drive at night.

5. Stay on Paths You Know:

When you can, take roads you know. Get a security travel alert for the route you’re taking and the place you want to go before you go.

6. Keep your house safe:

Before you go on vacation, make sure your home is properly locked and guarded to keep thieves out.

7. Keep in touch:

If you need to call the police, make sure you have the numbers for the police stations where you’re going and any places you pass through on hand.

8. Be alert and careful:

Stay aware of your surroundings and alert throughout your trip.
